According to yesterday’s “Business Review” section of The Post and Courier, J.C. Penney will be opening a store in West Ashley’s Citadel Mall this coming October. You may remember that Penney closed a store at that mall several years ago. The new store will open in the same location that the company once occupied, which until recently housed Parisian. The building’s interior will be remodeled in order to widen shopping aisles and improve fitting rooms, among other improvements. A salon and portrait studio will be also be built in the new store. The chain plans on hiring between 150 and 200 people, which makes this store opening a major retail employment opportunity in the area.
